A DUI Interlock system is an ignition interlock device or a breath alcohol ignition interlock device. It is installed on the dashboard of a car in order to analyze the breath of a driver to determine the alcohol concentration in the breath. The device uses pre-established blood alcohol concentration, which can vary anywhere between 0.02 and 0.04% to compare the sample breath with. The engine will not start unless the sample breath is within the required parameters.
